Post-Publication Discussion

Policy Statement

Idarotuna: Journal of Administrative Science encourages responsible scholarly discussion after publication. Readers, authors, and researchers may submit comments, critiques, clarifications, or concerns regarding published articles.

Post-publication discussion is intended to improve scientific understanding, correct the scholarly record, and support transparent academic debate.

Submission of Comments

Comments should be submitted to the Editorial Office and must:

  • clearly identify the article being discussed;
  • address specific scientific, methodological, ethical, or interpretative issues;
  • use respectful and professional language;
  • be supported by relevant evidence or references; and
  • disclose any conflicts of interest.

Comments containing personal attacks, defamatory statements, unsupported allegations, commercial promotion, or irrelevant material will not be considered.

Editorial Assessment

The Editorial Board will assess each submission for relevance, clarity, evidence, ethical compliance, and contribution to scholarly discussion. Comments may be edited for clarity, length, and language with the contributor’s approval.

The journal may send a substantial comment for independent review before publication.

Authors’ Right to Respond

Authors of the original article will normally be given an opportunity to respond to substantive comments. The response must address the issues raised professionally and provide supporting evidence when necessary.

Where appropriate, the comment and author’s response may be published together and linked to the original article.

Corrections and Ethical Concerns

When a post-publication comment identifies a possible error or ethical concern, the journal will assess the matter under its research-misconduct and correction-and-retraction policies.

Depending on the findings, the journal may publish a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other appropriate notice. All notices will be permanently linked to the original article.

Confidentiality

Concerns involving confidential data, research participants, legal matters, or allegations of misconduct should be submitted privately to the Editorial Office rather than posted publicly.

The identity of a complainant will be protected whenever reasonably possible, although disclosure may be necessary for a fair investigation or required by law.

Editorial Independence

Post-publication discussions will be evaluated fairly regardless of the identity, affiliation, academic position, or nationality of the contributor or original authors. Editors with a conflict of interest will not participate in the assessment or decision.

Permanent Scholarly Record

Published comments, responses, corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions will remain accessible as part of the permanent scholarly record. They will be clearly labelled and linked to the relevant article whenever technically possible.

This policy supports open academic dialogue while maintaining accuracy, fairness, accountability, and research integrity.
