Improving the community's quality of life depends heavily on environmental health, especially when basic sanitation is provided. The continued occurrence of open defecation in a number of rural locations suggests that public knowledge and access to adequate sanitation are still inadequate. This study uses a case study design and a qualitative methodology. Sumberbendo Village, Sumberasih District, Probolinggo Regency, was the site of the study. Interviews, observation, and documentation were all part of the data collection process. The Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, was used for data analysis. Source and technique triangulation was used to guarantee data veracity. The Latrine Construction Program in Sumberbendo Village was carried out in phases that included data collecting, outreach, sanitary latrine construction, and post-implementation monitoring and assistance, according to research findings. Effective communication, the dedication of local leaders, the availability of sufficient resources, and efficient bureaucratic coordination all contributed to the program's effectiveness. Positive effects of the program include a decrease in open defecation, a rise in the usage of sanitary latrines, and an increase in community understanding of the value of clean, healthy living practices and sanitation. Thus, by combining the creation of sanitary infrastructure with long-term behavioral changes in the community, the Latrine Construction Program can be regarded as highly successful in enhancing environmental health in Sumberbendo Village.
